It’s Easy to Buy a Bromsgrove Kitten
You are more than welcome to ask questions at any time, but Bromsgrove has tried to answer as many questions here as possible, so you can start your search with as much information as we can give you.
How Do I Know What Kittens Are Available?
At Bromsgrove we regularly keep you up to date with current information on these pages, regarding which kittens have been born and when other mums are due. However, we are keen for you to get what kitten you want as soon as possible, so feel free to email, or phone us with what you would like. If we do not have it available now or in the near future, we will contact you as soon as we do. If you are still interested at this time, Bromsgrove will email you photos to help you with your decision.
How Do I Purchase A Bromsgrove Kitten?
Deciding to buy a Ragdoll is the easy part – choosing which adorable kitten is the hard part. After you have made the big decision as to which kitten you would like from these pages or photos we have emailed you, we just need a non refundable deposit of $250 to confirm and hold your kitten for you. Remember other people may also be interested in “your” kitten, so contact us as soon as you have chosen and let us know. However, at Bromsgrove we are flexible and know it is a hard decision and one that should not be made lightly. If your kitten’s colour does not develop the way you were expecting or you “discover” the beauty of a different colour, we are happy to transfer your deposit to a different kitten, if one is available.
When Will I Know The Gender and Colour of the Kitten?
Although it is possible to determine the colour and sex of the kitten at two weeks, at times it can be difficult. At Bromsgrove we will not determine the sex or colour until we are confident and sure, which is normally three weeks. We will keep you up to date with photos and information, and give you all the information as soon as we know.
Can I Be Sure My Kitten is Healthy?
All kittens are vet checked before departure from Bromsgrove and come with our health guarantee. We will not allow the kitten to travel unless it has been given the clearance from their vet. You will also be given a copy of our guarantee to sign and return to Bromsgrove once you have paid your deposit
Your kitten will be vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and given a free flea treatment during a free “pampering session” prior to departure, to ensure your kitten is happy on arrival and ready for their new home.
What Happens After I Pay a Deposit?
We will stay in constant contact with you; answering any questions you may have, and send you photos of your kitten’s development every two weeks, even weekly when possible. At this time we will send you information on how you can be ready for your kitten and suggestions on what you will need when your little one arrives home. When you have chosen a name, we will be happy to start calling your kitten by its correct name (if you change your mind, don’t forget to tell us). At Bromsgrove we want to make sure both you and your kitten are happy when you meet.
Can I Come and Choose My Kitten?
Certainly. We are more than happy for people to come and choose their kitten at Bromsgrove. Due to their vulnerability to infection, the kittens will not be available for viewing until they are at least four weeks old. Unfortunately, you will not be able to handle them until they have had their vaccination at six weeks. You can make an appointment to view them at any time (we do ask for at least 24 hours notice) and collect them, but please keep in mind that at Bromsgrove, we have nearly 40 years experience in transporting small animals around Australia. This means you can be stress free when you meet, giving you the opportunity to enjoy each others company as soon as you meet. Occasionally, at the request of the new owner we have escorted our babies to their new home.
How Long Do I Have to Wait for My Kitten?
This will depend greatly on the kitten. Normally it is between 10 – 12 weeks. Occasionally it is a very confident kitten, ready to explore the world at 8 weeks. Others are still a little clingy to their mum until 14 weeks. We will not keep you waiting any longer than necessary, but we have found that kittens are more confident and sociable in the long term if they are allowed to stay with their mum until they are ready. So we do ask for your patience please. During this time your kitten will spend time with the other cats, being handled by people, and socialising with other animal;, especially dogs and puppies. Your kitten will spend time with Julie-Anne, our Animal Behaviour Management Therapist, who will give you a regular report each week, on the progress of your kitten and its special unique personality, so you know your kitten even before you meet.
Will My Kitten Be Desexed?
Yes, unless you are purchasing your kitten for breeding, there are several reasons why it is better to have your kitten desexed at an early age.
• It is a small procedure when they are young, being able to come home the same day. The kitten can then cuddle up to mum for the night, and will be feeling better in the morning.
• When you register your kitten with the council, it will be cheaper if it has already been desexed.
• Desexing has positive health benefits for cats, including a longer life expectancy and reduced risk of cancer and other diseases of the reproductive organs.
Will I Get Pedigree Papers With My Kitten?
If you have purchased your kitten or cat as a pedigree pet, or for showing or breeding, you will receive the papers as soon as they have been processed. At Bromsgrove our kittens are registered with Waratah Alliance and we aim at having this process completed before your kitten is ready to leave us.
For our companion kittens and cats you will be given their pedigree information so you can track their family tree and the superb bloodlines you have chosen.
What Do I Need to do if I Want My Kitten Delivered?
This is not a problem at Bromsgrove. We only use qualified and experienced couriers to transport your special cargo. Your kitten will be transported in an airline approved carrier on a day and time which suits you. All you will need to do is collect your kitten from the airport of your choice, prearranged before departure.
How Much Will My Kitten Cost?
Pricing depends on the kitten’s colour and pattern.
Imperfect and unusual markings in any kitten will be sold as companion kittens.
Please refer to the Companion Cats and Kittens section for more details.
All Solid kittens will remain between $650 - $1,750 as we now have our new bloodlines from Canada. Solid kittens price depends on their bloodlines and whether they can be registered with TICA.
